Developmental Disabilities and Employment

Over the years, we have served and supported a multitude of individuals with developmental disabilties. We have streamlined our services to provide the best supports possible. Services are delivered by teams of experts, who have a variety of strengths in applying the best solutions.

Tandem

Our Tandem teams work with adults with developmental disabilities. These can range from fairly mild to significant disabilities. We use person centered planning to discover the path the participant wants. These paths could be immediate employment or other activities that may lead to employment. We work together to identify jobs that would match an individual's skills and interests.

Once the person becomes employed, we provide an Employment Consultant who stays with the new employee from the first day of the job until the new employee and their employer are comfortable, which can vary depending on the support needs of the individual. The Employment Consultant works with the supervisors and co-workers to assure the new employee is successful on their job.

The amount of time we spend with the new employee and his or her employer depends on each situation.  On a long term basis, Vadis provides follow up with both to encourage advancement and to address any concerns.
